Recruiter Training Program

Program Overview

Aloha HP’s Recruiter Training Program is a high-impact, hands-on internship that prepares transitioning service members for civilian careers in professional recruiting and talent acquisition. Through this immersive program, participants gain experience across the full recruitment life cycle, including candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination.

This program supports a smooth career transition by building real-world skills in a fast-paced staffing and workforce solutions environment. Trainees will support internal and client-facing roles while receiving mentorship from experienced talent acquisition professionals at Aloha HP’s Hawaii and California branches.

  • Understand the full-cycle recruitment process from intake to placement
  • Develop candidate sourcing strategies using job boards, social media, ATS, and referral networks
  • Learn how to conduct phone screens, interviews, and candidate evaluations
  • Gain hands-on experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and CRM tools
  • Collaborate with account executives and hiring managers to align on job needs
  • Manage candidate pipelines, interview coordination, and feedback tracking
  • Communicate effectively with diverse candidates and internal stakeholders
  • Full-time internship: 4-6 months (40 hours/week)
  • On-site and hybrid training available in both Hawaii and California offices
  • Live shadowing with experienced recruiters on daily sourcing and candidate engagement tasks
  • Virtual training modules and SOPs to support independent learning
  • Weekly check-ins with assigned mentor or program coordinator
  • Participation in real-time staffing needs across industries (hospitality, logistics, admin, and more)

  • Detail-oriented, outgoing, and people-focused
  • Comfortable speaking with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Interested in HR, talent acquisition, or workforce operations
  • No prior recruiting experience required — just strong communication and initiative
  • Previous leadership or mentoring roles in the military is a strong plus
  • Gain real-world recruiting experience across multiple industries
  • Develop skills in sourcing, screening, and closing candidates
  • Build a professional recruiter resume and LinkedIn profile
  • Learn tools and strategies used by top staffing agencies
  • Explore pathways into permanent recruiting, HR, or client management roles
  • Strengthen ability to support veteran and military family employment
  • Program is non-paid, does not displace civilian employees, and complies with all DoD SkillBridge policies
  • Service members retain full military pay/benefits while participating
  • All training curriculum and fieldwork is approved by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)
  • Progress is monitored with check-ins and a final performance review
  1. Submit resume and brief cover letter
