Program Overview
Aloha HP’s Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) Training Program equips transitioning service members with the expertise needed to support and lead recruiting operations in dynamic, high-growth environments. This hands-on internship focuses on developing both strategic and tactical recruiting skills — from workforce planning and job intake, to sourcing, selection, and onboarding.
This program is ideal for service members who enjoy relationship building, problem solving, and working at the intersection of people and business. Trainees will work directly with internal teams and external clients to fill roles across multiple industries, gaining exposure to real-world hiring challenges and solutions.
Training Objectives
- Learn end-to-end recruitment processes including intake, sourcing, screening, and offer coordination
- Understand Aloha HP’s talent strategies and client staffing models
- Build job postings and sourcing campaigns for active and passive talent
- Use ATS platforms to track candidates, collect data, and manage compliance
- Conduct candidate screenings, assessments, and interview scheduling
- Learn to partner with hiring managers and recruiters to refine hiring criteria
- Develop expertise in diversity hiring, veteran transitions, and workforce planning
Program Duration
- Full-time internship: 4-6 months (40 hours/week)
Delivery Method
- On-site and hybrid roles available in Hawaii and California
- Live shadowing and joint projects with internal recruitment teams
- Virtual and in-person training sessions, SOP walkthroughs, and candidate workflow demos
- Weekly learning plans with progress check-ins and mentor evaluations

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of juggling multiple open roles
- Interested in HR, recruiting, or personnel operations
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, databases, and communication tools
- Prior leadership, coaching, or military team-building experience is a strong asset

Compliance & Program Guidelines
- Fully compliant with DoD SkillBridge policy
- Internship is non-paid; participants stay on active duty and retain military compensation
- Trainees do not displace paid employees
- Training plans and program scope approved by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)
