Are you looking to grow in your job, boost your skills, or make work life a little easier? If live on Oahu, you may qualify for a no-cost support package through a special workforce grant.
AlohaHP’s HandUP! Program provides FREE work clothes, bus passes, plus work skill and financial literacy certifications — at NO COST to you. We’re dedicated to helping you access the resources you need to succeed in your career.
Would you like help with things like…
- Getting free work clothing or gear?
We’ve got you covered — black pants, long-sleeve button-down shirts, server neckties, nonslip shoes, high-vis shirts, hard hats, and more. - Free transportation to work?
You’ll get a Holo card with a full month of bus and rail access — an $80 value. - Earning a professional certificate that can help you stand out and earn more?
The AlohaHP Service Excellence Certificate is a 10-hour online course created with Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. It teaches real-world customer service, communication, and leadership skills — helping you show up strong, shine on the job, and potentially command a higher wage. - Getting smarter with your money?
Earn a Financial Literacy Certification through an 8-hour, locally taught course (in person or via Zoom) packed with real-world tools for budgeting, managing credit, paying off debt, and planning for your future. You’ll also get a financial toolkit and a certificate to show for it.
If you identify as Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, or Filipino and live on Oahu, you may be eligible.

About the HandUP! Program
Funded by a workforce development grant from Good Jobs Oahu,* the HandUP! Program is led by AlohaHP to help individuals take the next step toward meaningful employment. We are dedicated to supporting Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Filipino community members as they build skills, overcome barriers, and move toward a stronger future.

Cindy Ramirez
Grant Administrator and Program Manager
Cindy oversees the HandUP! program operations, ensuring smooth coordination between community partners, participants, and service providers. She manages compliance, reporting, service delivery, and overall program success, supporting the team and participants every step of the way.

Nour Lababidi
Program Coordinator
Nour coordinates the daily services that help our participants succeed — from enrolling individuals and distributing resources to managing program operations. He also leads community engagement and partnership development, building strong relationships with organizations and agencies across Oahu to create opportunities that uplift our workforce.

Andreah Mamaia
Grant Liaison and Talent Acquisition Specialist
Andreah connects people with opportunity. She works directly with grant participants, providing individualized assessments to understand their employment goals and strengths. With encouragement and care, she helps participants transition from intake to employment, matching them with opportunities where they can thrive.
